Your key responsibilities:
- Contribute statistical, visualisation, data analysis and other scientific expertise within a team of data scientists
- Hands on coding (new development and refactoring) of pipelines for the analysis of mostly high throughput and high content data
- Contribute to experimental design
- Document, manage and maintain solutions
- Batch processing of experimental data with quality inspection and assurance
- Requirements specification (with internal and external project partners)
- Communicating results and conclusions to project stakeholders
- Flexibility in applying expertise across a range of ongoing and emerging projects
- Reports to the data science director and contributes widely in multidisciplinary teams
Your ideal qualifications
- Master of Science/PhD degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)
- Work experience in the application of statistics and visualisation
- Substantial hands-on coding experience with R and packages e.g. Tidyverse
- Excellent understanding of statistical science
- Development of modular code according to requirements and capacity to anticipate future requirements
- Familiarity with best practice, existing and emerging tools in data science
- Fundamentals of biology
- Experience of supporting primarily wet lab biological scientists
- Software engineering methodology (design, code management, testing, refactoring)
- Ability to work effectively across multiple projects and deliverables according to dynamic prioritisation
- Excellent team spirit and communication skills in interdisciplinary team
- Problem-solution oriented attitude
- Fluency in written and spoken English (required)
